The circular of the Ministry of University and Research relating to the procedures for the entry, stay and enrolment of international students and the related recognition of qualifications for academic courses of higher education in the academic year 2024/2025 has been published on the Universitaly website.
In particular, the circular illustrates the necessary requirements and the preparatory documentation to be submitted to the Italian Embassy in Mogadishu when applying for an entry visa for study purposes (p. 15-17).
In this regard, please note that in order to proceed with the issuance of the Declaration of Value, students are requested to present themselves on the day of the appointment with the following documents (original + copy):
1- passport;
2- university degree;
3- transcripts of exams;
4- high school diploma;
5- Universitaly form, validated by the University Institution.
The documents referred to in points 2, 3 and 4 must first be legalized by the Somali authorities (Ministry of Education, Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
The deadline for submitting the application for the relevant study visa at the Embassy of Italy in Mogadishu is 29th November 2024.
Finally, please note that appointment bookings for the Declaration of Value and visa application are made exclusively on an individual basis through the Prenot@mi system. Students must be present in person, in order to be able to take the interview and, in the cases required by law, for the acquisition of biometric data by the Embassy staff.
Only those students who are regularly pre-enrolled on the UNIVERSITALY portal and for whom the pre-enrolment application has been validated by the receiving higher education institution will be received, according to the procedure illustrated at the following address: universitaly.it/first-steps.
