The Embassy of Italy in Mogadishu informs that starting from 9th March 2024, booking requests for the following consular services must be made through the Prenot@mi portal, the automated appointment management system developed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation:

  • Visa procedures for Diplomatic and Service passports holders and special cases;
  • Issuance of the Ordinary Italian passport;
  • Civil Registry Services (Registration of Birth, Marriage, Divorce, Death Certificates);
  • Notarial services (powers of attorney);
  • Legalization of documents;
  • Information request (assistance);
  • Declarations of value and certificate of economic condition.

The adoption of this tool, which responds to the need to standardize the practice among consular offices abroad, will allow a reduction in the processing time of the files with benefits in terms of greater transparency and security to the advantage of users.

All requests received by 8th March 2024 at the dedicated email address (consolare.mogadiscio@esteri.it) will continue to be processed on a first-come, first-served basis.

GUIDELINES FOR USE

How do I request an appointment on the Prenot@mi platform?

The booking service is completely free and automated: the user himself can manage his account and appointments, after initial registration on the portal.

As a matter of fact, new users must first register on the portal by clicking on “Register” and then enter their personal data. Once the registration has been completed, the user will have to return to the booking system and, by entering the credentials chosen during registration, will be able to access the page of the services offered.

Existing users will be able to access by entering the credentials chosen during registration (email and password). In the “Book” section of the menu you will be able to view all the above-mentioned services currently available at the Embassy of Italy in Mogadishu. You will then be able to enter the data of the person who is to obtain the requested document (the so-called “applicant”). You will then be able to enter the data of the person who is to obtain the requested document (the so-called “applicant”). Only fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory; the others may or may not be filled in depending on the specific circumstances.

It is possible to book an appointment for yourself or for another person: in the latter case, in the “Booking type” drop-down menu, you should select “Booking for other people” and enter the data of the actual applicant. For example: if the appointment is to renew the passport of a minor, even if the person who physically books the appointment is the parent, the data of the minor must be indicated in the appointment data.

Each appointment is individual. If you want to request appointments for more than one person (e.g. members of the same family), you must enter a specific request for each person. In fact, in order to allow the necessary checks, at the time of requesting the appointment the data of all the persons who are to obtain the requested document must be provided. If people whose data were not entered in the system at the time of booking the appointment show up at the Embassy, it will not be possible to proceed with the delivery of the documents.

Once the applicant’s details have been entered, it will be possible to access the appointment calendar and select the available date and time slot (both highlighted in green). From the time of the request to the date of the appointment, the Consular Section will check the personal data to verify that there are no reasons preventing the issuance of the document.

New dates will be available every day for appointments: if, at the time of booking, all the dates are occupied, it is sufficient to wait 24 hours to have new free dates available.

ATTENTION: In the event that, as a result of the checks, elements emerge that prevent (temporarily or not) the issuance of the document, the interested party will be contacted by the Embassy for the cancellation of the appointment.
