Today, at Halane base in Mogadishu, the Italian Ministry of Defense has concluded the distribution of equipment aimed towards a battalion of the Somali National Armed Forces (SNAF). The activity falls within the efforts to rebuild the Somali National defense forces, within which Italy already participates with training activities in the framework of the European mission EUTM-S.
The equipment, amphibian combat uniforms and helmets, has been donated to the Head of the Logistics Department of SNAF, Brigadier General Garabey who, while thanking Italy, framed this donation as a the tangible contribution to the reconstruction of Somalia, especially in the context dictated by the devastating terrorist attack last October 14th.
